Samsung have unveiled a string of new handsets which will hit the highstreet and on-line markets this side of Christmas. The Samsung Galaxy W looks to be the coolest of all the new devices and we expect to have this new Android handset available very soon.
The Samsung Galaxy W has a 5mpx camera which supports HD Video Recording as well as a secondary camera for Video Calling. The handset uses a 3.7” 480 x 800 pixel TFT display and ensures that the pricing will be a bracket below the Samsung Galaxy S2 and therefore more affordable to some.
Hitting the entry-level arena is the Samsung Galaxy Y. With a smaller 3.0” 240x320 pixel display it is clearly a less desirable handset for many Android users however it does contain a 800MHz processor to deliver a good browsing and application experience.
For the business person there is the launch of the Samsung Galaxy M Pro. Anything with a QWERTY Keyboard these days is described as a ‘Blackberry Style’ device however this again uses the Android Operating System. It support Exchange ActiveSync and Cisco WebEx to help clearly defibe it as a Business device. The screen of this device is even smaller at 2.66” whilst the 480x320 pixel display is touchscreen. The 5mpx camera makes this a serious competitor in this area of the marketplace and again there is a secondary VGA camera for video calling.
Finally we introduce the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro. This seems to be one for the youngsters and again it has the QWERTY Keyboard using the Android OS. This device too uses a 2.6” touchscreen display however the camera is less exciting at just 3 megapixels. It does have WIFI.
