DPC Sponsor Gold Medallist Jessica-Jane Applegate

Digital Phone Company sponsor Paralympic gold medallist Jessica-Jane Applegate

Today, Great Yarmouth based Digital Phone Company (DPC) presented Paralympic gold medallist Jessica-Jane Applegate with her new Samsung Galaxy SIII as they agree to sponsor the local young champion’s mobile phone.

Since Jessica-Jane won at the London Paralympics she has had a busier than usual schedule, a keen fan base following and a lot more demand on her availability, so what better way to help her stay on top of it all than a new smartphone that can help her manage her schedule, stay in touch with family, friend and fans on social media and capture her memories on the 8 MP camera.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Richard King, Sales Director at DPC said  “We are delighted to be able to support Jessica-Jane Applegate. Sponsorship is a key element in allowing athletes to pursue their sporting careers. Often gaining on-going sponsorship following big sporting events can become difficult but as a local award winning company we see the importance in continued support and investment in local talent to uphold future success.”

Jessica-Jane Applegate's superb year in the pool saw its highlight with her gold medal in the S14 200m freestyle in London, in a new Paralympic record. The 16 year old has set 35 new British disability swimming records during the past 12 months and she has now been unbeaten for 18 months in the 200m freestyle in both multi-classification events and her own S14 classification.

Jessica-Jane was thrilled with her new phone and said “it's great to be associated with an award winning local company”. You can follow Jessica on Twitter @jessica_jane96
