A new report from Ofcom positions the UK as the leading country for mobile use, taking over Japan.
The report demonstrates more than ever before how data usage is now at the forefront of consumer habit with users in the UK now using on average 424MB of Data each month - that is a 60% increase from just 12 months ago and sits above the 392MB used by the Japanese.
Although a hefty increase, 424MB of data is well within what is available on most Pay Monthly tariffs. Indeed, Vodafone have long stated that there is no need to offer Unlimited Data Tariffs whilst other operators have tried to encourage new customers by offering the such mouth-watering deals.
So why has the UK seen such a large increase? The facts show that this is predominantly social media and on-line shopping whilst more and more people are logging onto catch up TV sites such as BBC iPlayer.
