Last night saw the launch of the Windows Phone 8X by HTC.
The handset was one of two new handsets launched with the 8X being the pick of the devices. The first thing that was noticeable was the vibrant colouring of these two devices, the HTC 8X looked stunning in Blue and topped off with a fantastic matte finish.
HTC were clear to point out that the camera would not take a back seat on this device and true to their word have incorporated an 8 megapixel main camera as found on the One Series whilst also adding a fantastic wide-angle, 2 megapixel front camera lens capable of 1080p Video like the main camera. This is perfect when taking photo's of yourself in a small group where you normally struggle to fit everyone in.
Also improved is the Beats Audio. HTC has added an amplifier to make the music sound stunning. We tested this using the Beats headphones and were blown away. The 8X is the first Windows phone to have Beats Audio installed.
The HTC 8X has a 4.3" Gorilla Glass display and is powered by a 1.5GHz Dual Core Processor
The HTC Windows Phone 8S is the second handset also unveiled yesterday and again comes in a bold range of colours. This device has a slightly lower spec'd camera however still a good 5 megapixels. The handset has a 1GHz Dual Core processor and again integrates Beats Audio.
HTC stated quite clearly that "We are not looking at this platform as secondary" and together HTC and Windows really have created two fantastic devices.
