Children switch from mobile phones to tablets


Tablet sales look set to boom as a report suggest that children are replacing their mobile phone with tablet devices.

According to a figures from Ofcom the number of children owning mobile phones has fallen for the first time.  Only 43% of youngsters between the ages of 5 and 15 now own a mobile phone, down from 49% last year.

The Tablet is now "a must have device" for children of all ages according to Ofcom where a large 26% of children between the ages of twelve and fifteen now own a tablet, up from just 7% in 2012.

28% of infants between the ages of three and four now use a tablet computer at home.
