Although not much to announce yet in terms of change, Google have made it official that the next Google 6.0 update will be named Marshmallow.
The news was announced on the Android Developers blog
although there is no confirmation of a launch date. "Android M" had been announced as the clue and codename back in May.
Android Marshmallow follows Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop and continues the confectionary themed titles.
The update is for all smartphone and tablets using the Google Android Software which can be found on most HTC, Motorola, Samsung and Sony devices amongst others.
The update is expected to include a rival to Apple Pay which was announced by their rival earlier this year. Android Pay would allow users to pay for items in retail outlets and online using this service.
